What is water baptism? And why should I be baptized?
Baptism is symbolic.
It's a public profession that you have put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and declare to follow Him. Baptism declares to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
Baptism demonstrates obedience.
Jesus was baptized, and it's because of His example of humility that we follow salvation with the next step of baptism. Baptism by immersion in water is referenced many times in Scripture. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized.
