2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. 3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.” Isaiah 54:2-3
Dear Dayspring Church Family,
I am constantly amazed at what God is doing at Dayspring Church. Our mission is to see our world spiritually transformed by the gospel message of Jesus Christ. That is happening through weekend services, growing small groups, a wide-spread online community, bursting children’s ministry, and growing student ministries. Looking around our campus we see people from every walk of life and all ages, experiencing the community of Dayspring Church. This all translates to transformed lives!
The Bible declares, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” That tells me that a heavenly vision is always about people. So while our vision is leading us to expand our facilities, it is not simply about buildings…this is a vision to see more people come to know and experience Christ, who in return will go forth and transform our world.

In the past 18 months, we have prayerfully considered our building facility options, working with architects and builders, as God revealed His plan for us. We are extremely excited to finally share with you His plan of Strengthen: For hope. For the one. For eternity. Strengthen is based upon Isaiah 54:2-3 which says:
“Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.”
This says we are to enlarge and stretch our faith beyond what we currently see and to strengthen our foundation. This obedience will increase our impact for generations to come as our city, region, and area are spiritually transformed. More and more people will worship, grow, serve, and go as Dayspring strengthens our mission. The vision that God has given us for facilities on our campus includes:
Dayspring has a long and rich history of committed believers who saw the vision of the future, considered the cost, and plunged forward in faith to build the facilities that we love and experience today. It is now our turn to embrace this new journey into what God has set before us. I am challenged by Strengthen; and I challenge you to join me as we once again commit our lives to God in a deeper way. This is a commitment of prayer, of listening to God’s voice, and of being crazy generous of our time, talents, and resources.
Please join me as we travel this adventure of Strengthen together
To God be the glory!

history
Dayspring Assembly of God’s first service was in July 1983, with Pastor Randy Carter leading the founding members in a hotel conference room near BGSU. Dayspring was founded as a praying church. The growing congregation moved from the hotel to the 4 D’s building, to a downtown hardware store on Main Street.
Looking for a permanent home, Pastor Carter and the Board of Ministry began praying at every corner of Bowling Green, seeking God for the right property for Dayspring to call home. Through an incredible move of God, Dayspring was able to purchase property on North Dixie Highway.
Over the past 38 years Dayspring has become a source of hope and life in Bowling Green and throughout Wood County. From large musical productions that drew thousands in for Christmas and Easter outreaches, to the debut of Serve Day in 2020, Dayspring Church has consistently been ministering and reaching the community with the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
In January 2020, Dayspring welcomed Pastor Cody Winkler as its fifth lead pastor. His innovative leadership allowed Dayspring to remain a beacon of light even during a worldwide pandemic. Known as a worshipping church, God has continued to expand the Dayspring family through a robust online community and multiple in-person services.
The Spirit of God has moved us to this moment right here, to step into what is next, and continue to strengthen God’s Kingdom in Northwest Ohio and throughout the world.

testimonies

We have attended Dayspring for many years since the days of Pastor Carter. We started coming because our daughter and family were attending and told us what an awesome church it was. We have continued to stay at Dayspring for approximately 34 years because of the moving of God’s Spirit and the friendly atmosphere between the staff, congregation and the areas in which we were able to serve. We have watched Dayspring grow through the teaching of God’s Word, worship, and especially with the emphasis on prayer. Over the years so many miracles have happened because of God‘s faithfulness and our prayer warriors. Come join us and see what God does next. Love in Christ, Dale and Connie
Josh and I were both raised in church, and before we found Dayspring, we were at a small country church where we knew our faith wasn’t growing, but we didn’t know how to leave. Then covid hit and the church shut down in person temporarily and we wanted to be able to worship in person. We believe it was God’s way of letting us know it was ok to leave. We found our way to Dayspring through current and past relationships. We have been attending Dayspring in person for almost a year, previously watching it online. But in this past year we have found out that our faith has deepened more than we knew it could, it’s easier to connect to our church family, and we see our kids learning more and more about Jesus every week; words can’t explain what that does to a mama’s heart! We absolutely love the mission at Dayspring and the drive to get out in the community and spread the word of Jesus. We are forever grateful. Josh and Chelsie

We walked into Dayspring Assembly of God in 1998 after driving by for many years to attend the many wonderful churches in Toledo. We were greeted at the door by Marty Almanson (a long-time member) who took us under her wings. We witnessed an awesome showcase of the children’s program that day. And then when we heard Paster Allen preach, it became a done deal. This man appeared to have a direct connection to God. Then the multitude of classes for the children. You mean we do not have to try to keep our kids quiet! They had their own classes! We were able to learn things from them as they came home to share. We really benefitted from the Grief group after losing so many people over the years. My favorite is the awesome Community Outreach our church offers. Under the leadership of the Winklers, our doors are definitely opened to serve the people. We just don’t do church in the building; our doors are also open for us to go out into the community to serve. Yes, there are a lot of great churches out there, but Dayspring Assembly of God is the church that serves people locally and all over the world. Dayspring Assembly of God is our home away from Cleveland. Karla and Quintin
impact statement
“Through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1:78-79
OUR VISION:
We want to see people transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
OUR MISSION: WORSHIP | GROW | SERVE | GO!
We WORSHIP God
We GROW in Christ
We SERVE the church and our community
We GO to all the world
OUR CORE VALUES:
BIBLICALLY GROUNDED
We are a church committed to the Word of God. The Bible is more than a book we read. The Bible is the living, breathing, and active Word of God. The Bible frames our worldview, directs our beliefs, and instructs our behaviors. We believe in the inerrancy of the Scriptures.
CHRIST-CENTERED
We are a church transformed by the Gospel of Jesus. Our identity is firmly placed in Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit. As transformed people, we each have a unique part to play in the Body of Christ. Transformed people are intentionally growing in Christ.
SPIRIT-FILLED | SPIRIT-LED | SPIRIT-EMPOWERED
We are a church unapologetically ignited with the power of the Holy Spirit. A church where people live a Spirit-filled, Spirit-led, and Spirit-empowered life. A church who is led, filled, and empowered by the Holy Spirit in every decision, service, choice, action, and behavior.
KINGDOM-FOCUSED
We are a church so passionate about reaching the lost that we give up our own comforts, we bet the farm to win the lost, and we deal with the messiness of sinners with the grace and love of Jesus. We want to be a church that is intentionally reaching, building, equipping, and sending people to live a life of mission and purpose that sets the tone of culture instead of reflecting the noise of culture. We want to be the stop gap for spiritual needs in our community and region. As the church we put the gospel in action going outside the walls of the building to infuse our community with hope and healing that only Jesus can bring. We will do what it takes, when it takes it, to build the Kingdom of God. We take the great commission seriously. We will have the mindset of Jesus. We will lay ourselves down to see the broken come back to life.
PRAYER DRIVEN
We are a church devoted to prayer. We believe prayer changes everything. We want to be a church that is driven by prayer. Prayer establishes God’s kingdom, ushers in God’s presence, and tunes our ears to God’s voice. With so much noise in the world we want to be a church driven by prayer.
INTENTIONALLY RELATIONAL
We are a church where people are growing with each other in such a way that bridges are built between people groups and the world takes notice of the change in our community. A church that is committed to unity above all. A church who fights for relationships at all costs. We are quick to forgive, quick to listen, and quick to lead with empathy. We are a church family; celebrating each other’s successes and testimonies and bearing each other’s burdens and hardships. We are intentionally involved in each other’s life.
SERVING LIKE JESUS
We are a church who serves wholeheartedly. We don’t come with an “I have to” mindset but show up with an “I get to” heart. We will set the tone for serving in our church and community. Like Jesus we lay down our lives, interests, and preferences to serve Jesus and others.
CRAZY GENEROSITY
We are a church that lives under the blessing of God. A church where generosity is in our DNA. A church that sends people into the mission field locally and globally to see the world won for Jesus.

GOD’S VISION & OUR DREAM
The Bible declares, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” That tells us that heavenly vision is all about people…that is a vision to see more people come to know and experience Christ, who in return will go forth and transform their world.
It has been said before, “Dream a dream so big, that if God isn’t in it, it will surely fail.” Dayspring, let’s dream the dream together!
God’s Vision and Our Dream:
• Newly remodeled sanctuary, foyer, and bathrooms
• Updated and expanded children’s ministry space
• Dedicated youth space with a gym to further our outreach capacity
The amount pledged will determine the progress of the Strengthen project. God’s provision, through His people, will determine how much of the project will be completed initially and how much will be phased in. We believe that God is still in the business of performing great things for His people and His glory.
He is calling us to partner with Him in this great endeavor.

3 Ways to give

GIVE A CASH GIFT
Consider ways to give the best cash gift possible. Perhaps you’ve recently received a bonus at work, an inheritance, or some other form of financial abundance and blessing. Rather than simply holding onto the asset, consider investing in God’s work through Strengthen. Involve your whole family in setting a specific amount to give.

MAKE A 36-MONTH PLEDGE
Giving spread out over the next 36 months allows you to make a steady contribution that accrues with time, often resulting in a larger gift than you may have thought possible. You can choose to give weekly, monthly, quarterly, or with an annual gift.

GIVEN AN ASSET
The gift of an asset can have a bigger impact than you might imagine and often provides a favorable tax advantage for you. Consider participating in Strengthen through the gift of appreciated stock, bonds, cars, land, homes or other personal valuables. Remember, your gift will have far-reaching impact, both here and now as well as in eternity. Please contact Deb Fruchey at the Church to discuss the potential benefit of giving an asset.

frequently asked questions
What is the purpose of Strengthen: For hope. For the one. For Eternity?
It is about spiritually renewing our faith and looking for the way God is going to enrich the life and future of our church when we exercise our faith. Although money is a big part of a project like this, the main focus of our project is about each one of us seeking God and being obedient to His voice.
Why have we entered into this project at this time?
God is doing amazing things at Dayspring! Some of our greatest challenges will be addressed with Strengthen. Upgraded technology will reach people not ready to come back to church, while reconfiguring seating will allow accessibility for those who are attending in person. A safe, secure, and dedicated children’s ministry space is an all-time priority to ensure the well-being of the next generation. Additionally, a dedicated youth space with a gym will allow us to reach a growing population of teenagers that are desperately searching for meaning, belonging, and purpose.
Will all the building be done at one time?
The master plan for Dayspring is quite extensive and will be done in phases. This initial phase will focus on remodeling the Sanctuary, and creating useable and accessible Children’s and Youth space.
Will a project like this affect general giving?
As believers, to give a 10% of our income to our church is biblical obedience. Strengthen is the opportunity for every believer to sacrificially give above their tithe to further the Kingdom of God in a tangible way. King David demonstrated his understanding of sacrificial giving in 2 Samuel 24:24 when he said, “I will not offer to God that which costs me nothing.” The only expectation is that each family pray and ask God what He would have them give. Dayspring has been and will continue to be supported through the faithful giving of our church family. Our emphasis on the ministries and mission remain constant even though we are going to be involved in Strengthen over the next several years.
Will my pledge be confidential?
Yes, unless you choose to share this information with others. This is a covenant between you and God.
When will my giving begin?
The official beginning is Celebration Sunday, April 3. However you may begin giving at any time. Be sure to designate the amount for Strengthen on your offering envelope or check. For your convenience, online giving is available.
Can I change my commitment if my financial circumstances change?
Yes, of course! It is your commitment. However, just as the original commitment was made in prayer and by God’s guidance, the decision to change should be made after diligent prayer.

how to make your commitment
Each of us has the privilege to be part of the Strengthen project. Blessings follow obedience, so the first step in participating is seeking God’s guidance in your personal commitment. God hears His children’s prayers, and He will guide you as you seek His will for you and your family.
- Begin today by praying about the amount the Lord would have you give. Be open to His direction. God has often done the biggest things through people who felt unworthy or unqualified!
- From February 27 to March 19, study through the Devotional Guide with your family, as you pray together for wisdom concerning your family’s commitment.
- In a few weeks, you will receive a commitment card. Using the commitment card, indicate the total amount you are committing to give over the next 36 months.
- Bring the completed commitment card with you to worship services on Sunday, March 20. Cards will be collected during our worship services.
- If you cannot attend a service that weekend, please mail your commitment card back to Dayspring or drop it off at the church office.
- Give as much of your commitment as possible in the initial offering on Sunday, April 3, as we celebrate together the work that God has begun.

As you begin to seek God, be open to the possibility that He will allow you to step out in faith and make a commitment that you never would have thought possible. Look beyond your current provision and circumstances, and believe that God will allow you to be a vessel of blessing for such a time as this by making the largest gift you have ever made – an amount beyond what you would ever dream you alone could do. It could be that God wants to use your obedience and strengthen your faith to bless many people in the decades to come, but you will not know unless you ask!
