Day 12 - Friday - January 21, 2022
James 1:5 (NLT)
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
Early in our marriage, Deborah and I found the perfect rhythm to home projects. Usually couples who do home projects together end with arguments and frustration. Not us. We do really well working on a project together. It wasn’t always this way. Too many times fans did not work properly, too many times the plumbing wasn’t hooked up all the way (we both have had our fair share of water to the face). What did we do to figure it out? We found wisdom in instructions. When Deborah, who is detailed, reads the instructions and gives me the step-by-step, we get the job done quicker and with less issues.
There is wisdom in instruction. So many times we try to go through our life by figuring it out on our own. Where does that get us? Usually frustrated because we missed a key step to forgiveness, redemption, restoration, or wisdom. God is generous and wants us not just to survive in life but to thrive. What would our family, business, schooling, spiritual life, and so many other avenues of our lives look like if we stopped and asked God for wisdom?
When we ask God for wisdom, He will give it. So stop trying to take this journey through life without a good instructional manual and guidance from the Holy Spirit. Ask God for wisdom…He is ready to give it to you.
Today’s Promise: God’s ways are best, ask Him for wisdom, and He will give it to you generously.
