Philippians 4:19 (NLT)
“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
In my 9th grade economics class I learned the principle of supply and demand. If the supply is high and the demand low, cost will remain low. Alternatively, if the supply is low and the demand is high, cost will be high. The principle of supply and demand is not regulated to economics. Our lives are full of demands. We don’t call them demands, we call them needs.
Your body needs oxygen, food, and water. Out of those three oxygen and water are the most important. Without oxygen and water you cannot sustain life. These basic needs have to be met. But we don’t just live with these three basic needs. We have many needs. Because of that, oftentimes the enemy uses the lie of lack to seed worry into our hearts.
Worry is the thief of joy. Let me say that again for impact: worry is the thief of joy. When we worry about how our needs are going to be met, we lose our joy. When worry sets into our heart the temptation is to take matters into our own hands. We try to meet our needs. We work more; we rest less. We work more; we worship less. We work more; we play less.
The Bible is clear about your needs. You shouldn’t worry because God will supply all your needs from His glorious riches. God promises to use His means to supply your needs. Rest in that.
Today’s Promise: God will use His means to supply your needs.
