Strengthen Day 15 - Sunday - March 13, 2022
God shielded him and cared for him; He guarded him as the apple of His eye, like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft. Deuteronomy 32:10-11
The Israelites here were being reminded of God’s faithfulness and that He considered them as the apple of His eye. Like an eagle caring for its young, so He cares for us. A mother eagle is a bit like a parachute. As her baby is launched from the nest, she will fly to catch it before it falls to the ground. On its mother’s back the baby can experience the feeling of flying without danger or fear.
As we embark on this building project, be reminded of God’s faithfulness and love towards us. His promise to always be with us no matter what is certain. A healthy growing church body is a functioning body, where each member is actively utilizing their gifts. I really believe He is going to “stir up our nest” to keep us from getting too comfortable so that we can effectively reach Northwest Ohio. I find it interesting in this verse the eagle stirs up the nest but still hovers and protects.
Be stirred up and challenged today! Ask yourself: how can God use me at Dayspring? He has blessed us with talents and gifts but many times we are afraid to step out and use them. Ask God to give you courage to step out as we partner to reach the lost. When we do, we’ll feel like we are soaring!
Reflection: Dear Lord, I pray that I never become complacent in my Christian walk and always remember your never-failing faithfulness. Strengthen me so I can fly you have purposed for me.
