Strengthen Day 9 - Monday- March 7, 2022

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Oh, our days are busy! The demands on our time are incredible! We have laundry to do, meals to prepare, ministry commitments, errands to run, soccer practice, doctor appointments, and the list goes on and on. If we are not intentional, our commitments to our marriage, our kids, our friends, and our church will drown out our time with the Lord. We may have to turn off the TV, set our phones aside, cancel a shopping trip, or leave the dishes on the counter…… Do whatever it takes to prioritize a quiet time with the Lord.  We need to be proactive in setting time aside to hear His voice in our hectic schedules.

We may think there is no time, no space, no possibility for an opportunity to meet alone with him. That is just when we can be creative! Car time, shower time, prayer closet time or anywhere could be a sacred sanctuary. These are opportunities to commune with the Lord, to worship him, and listen to his voice. Can we expect God to meet us in unusual places? Yes! We need to clear our paths, maybe set our alarm 15 minutes early, prioritize our time so that there will be a moment of silence and solitude to give a clear perspective of what the Lord is speaking to us. “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.

The enemy wants us to be too busy to make time for building a relationship with the Lord and hearing from Him.  Carve out vital time with the Father. It is life-giving and strengthens our inner man. Ephesians 3:16 says, “…that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”  We need to position ourselves to hear a word from God.  Set yourself apart each day and open your heart to receive what He has for you. In these chaotic times we are hearing from everyone else, news media, politicians, friends and opinion makers. We need our guidance, our direction, and our counsel from the Living Lord Himself.

Reflection: What time does the Holy Spirt want me to give to the Father? What can I do with my time to strengthen and further the missions of God’s house?
