Day 6 - Saturday - January 15, 2022
Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”
I was riding a wave runner on Lake Merwin in the Pacific Northwest. It was a beautiful July day and my friends and I had all taken off work to enjoy what we had deemed as “Lake Day Getaway.” To get the full picture of Lake Merwin you have to understand the scenery. This lake is tucked away in a valley between Mt. Adams and Mt. St Helens. Surrounded by the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range, a tapestry of trees paints the backdrop to this lake. It is a beautiful place. As I was on the water doing 360s, hitting the wake off a boat to get some major air (probably more major in mind), and speeding up and down the coastline busily showing off for my friends, something amazing happened. An eagle swooped down and fished for lunch right next to me. When I say right next to me, I mean the eagle was so close I could see every detail. If I tried to reach out and touch it I probably would have crashed. It was majestic, a moment I will never forget. A moment that made Isaiah 40:31 and its promise stand out a little differently.
Those who trust in the Lord will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. They will soar high on wings like eagles. Imagine going through life and never hitting a weak spot, always having spiritual energy, rising to every occasion, living your best life spiritually. You can! It’s a promise of God. It is available for everyone who trusts…or as another translation states puts their hope in.
What you trust in - what you hope in - is what you draw your energy from. Grab this promise. Trust in the Lord so you can walk, run, and soar.
Today’s Promise: God promises that when I trust Him, I will have endurance to walk, run, and soar.
