Strengthen Day 5 - Thursday - March 3, 2022
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
It seems like items of importance get misplaced by my kids. Who am I kidding? Items of importance get
misplaced by me all the time as well. Whenever we are looking for something we need, the fear of not
finding the item can impact the quality of seeking. A phrase I use in helping my kids look for their lost
things, “It will most likely be either in the last place you had it or the last place you look when you find
it.” They always roll their eyes in frustration but the statement is 100% true. The items we are seeking, if
we do not give up, are found in the last place we look.
I find in my life, fear grows when seeking is minimal. What do I mean? If there is tension in a relationship
and I do not seek God about the answer, fear grows around the relationship. If there is pressure in my
finances and I continue to handle them without seeking God, fear grows in my finances. Where fear is
strongest, my seeking is weakest.
Two important truths from Psalm 34:
1. When we seek the Lord, He hears us!
2. When we seek the Lord, He delivers us!
What are the areas of fear in your life? I encourage you instead of leaning into the fear, start seeking God, His wisdom, and His ways. He will be in the last place you look, and is always faithful to hear you, and ready to deliver you.
Reflection:
We should always desire to seek the Lord in all things, but sometimes we need to investigate where we
need to seek Him the most. Look at your life and write down the areas where fear is the loudest. These are the areas you need to seek God. Remember He will hear you and He will deliver you.
