Day 2: You Shall Not Lack
Psalms 34:10
The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.
Trust is crucial in our relationship with God. When we fully trust in His character we allow ourselves to rest. Anxious thoughts arise when we try to meet our needs, wants, and desires in our own strength. In the moments when we try to meet our own needs we tend to look at what we don’t have. All we can see is our lack. We become like a young lion who is never satisfied, always hunting, never finding rest, and suffering hunger. This living opens up a door in our lives to experience unrest. We could create patterns and strongholds to seek out “things” that take us away from freedom and into bondage.
What you seek is important because it becomes what you fix to. When we fix to lack we pursue more and more to fill a bottomless void. The fixation of lack will leave us empty and searching and we end up continually running to things that hurt us. However, if we seek God we will not lack any good thing. When we fix on God we fix on good. We see there might still be a process but the process is not a struggle. Seeking God leads us to trust in God’s character and God’s way. When we do life God’s way there is no lack- but there will be abundance. So what are you seeking?
