Day 12: The Will of Jesus

The middle is never a fun place to be. I remember growing up and going on long family vacations the window seat was always the preferred method of travel. The middle was squished, enclosed, and uncomfortable. The middle isn’t fun or easy. The middle is where we choose to either give up or lean on. The story of the man with leprosy asking Jesus for healing finds himself in an uncomfortable middle. He knows Jesus can heal but is uncertain if Jesus is willing to heal him. He knelt before Jesus and said, “If you are willing make me clean.” Notice he didn’t ask if Jesus was able but if Jesus was willing. He had been dealing with leprosy for some time and knew the answer might be in front of him but was uncertain about the result. So the guy chose to lean in. Jesus’ response was “I am willing.” Maybe you are in an uncomfortable middle. The choice in front of you is to give up or lean in. Jesus is willing.
