Day 19: What's Following You?
I have an active imagination. For the most part, it keeps me entertained. However, when I was younger it would allow me to create a world that didn’t exist. Whenever I would walk down a dark hallway or outside at night I would imagine and feel in a very real way that something was following me. It would cause me to do silly things. I would quickly turn around and shine my flashlight to see nothing there. I would run into my room, jump on the bed, and throw the covers over my head ensuring my complete safety. I would turn around quickly to kick…nothing; but if there was something it would have felt my wrath. When we allow fear to control our lives we live in such a way that leads us to do similar actions. We look to see what is following us and assume it’s heartache, negative, bad things, and brokenness. However, when we walk with Jesus we don’t walk alone. When we walk with Jesus what follows us is goodness and mercy.
