Day 1: Hunger and Thirst

Matthew 5:6   

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.    

Have you ever been hangry? You know so hungry that your attitude changes from happy to well…hungry. When hanger sets in the only way to change is to eat something. If that happens when we do not feed our bodies correctly what happens when we do not feed our souls correctly? Jesus tells us to hunger and thirst for righteousness and we will be filled. What happens when we do not hunger and thirst for righteousness? Our soul becomes hungry and we try to fill the hunger with “things” that only drive us to be more hungry and not as full.   

When we hunger and thirst for righteousness then we walk with fulfillment in our lives, our minds, and our souls. What do you hunger and thirst for? Are there relationships, hobbies, habits, and pursuits that you are running after only to still find yourself wanting more and never satisfied? It is time to change what we allow our soul to hunger and thirst. Trust the words of Jesus, go after His righteousness, and find yourself filled.
